His 4th birthday!

Wow! What a year! He loves his new school merry oaks and on tues and thurs they get to go to gdc and ride a little school bus! His teachers have really worked with him and with us but he still has his moments and days. It's like a switch that just turns on. We have tried everything! His favorite word right now is NO!

We are really struggling with getting him to sleep at night. It's been going on for a while. We have a great routine, dinner, bath, books and bed. And he still fights his sleep so much.

I'm considering giving him melatonin. I just hate to have him rely on medication for what our bodies are supposed to do naturally. We are about to lose our minds.

update

cullen is growing like a weed! he would eat all day if we let him. thank goodness he eats everything for the most part, not a pickky kiddo! (so far) he's potty trained all the way now! even at night. it was so much easier than we thought it would be. i guess we should have listened to all those exerienced parents out there who said that kids will do things as they are ready. it just happened over night!

he started a new school this summer. he loves it but he still has some of his same issues as before. i should be thankful that he's not the kid that hits, pushes, bites, etc... but he's the difiant kid that doesnt always listen and will do completely opposite of what you tell him to do. good thing he's cute! lol he has one more year of day care before he starts prek, so this school is like a 3 year old prek program. hes matured so much already, im glad he will get one more year to grow up!

he loves to wake up each morning and as soon as he sees light through the blinds, he says, its good morning time! i love to watch him sleep and smell his head!

what a little turkey

so much has happened since i last wrote in. this started as a way for me to vent without overloading fram-ily on facebook and seeming all negative. you have to get this bad mojo out so it wont fester inside!

since becoming a mom, i have looked at disciplining children in a whole new light. it has helped me to have a little turkey who can sometimes make some bad choices which has helped me be a fair disciplinarian at school.

one thing that bothers me about cullens teachers and school is how when he has a bad day, thats the first thing i hear when i pick him up. i miss him all day and as a drive over to pick him up, all i think about is picking him up and telling him how much i missed him. he has had more good days then bad lately, but when they happen a couple days in a row, its frustrating!

today, i drive up to his school, see him playing outside. so i go get his bag and check his note for the day before i go get him. the note says he had a bad day (which to me implies the whole day was bad), the only incident described is that when he was taken to the bathroom, he pulled the curtain down, unrolled the whole toilet paper roll and put the toilet paper in the toilet. now, while this is a serious offence, what i believe is wrong with this picture is poor monitoring of the teachers.

so when i went outside, i had already read the note, the teacher then proceeds to tell me that what happened this morning was he unrolled the toilet paper all the way. so not sure which story is accurate, but they dont completely match.

i'm frustrated because they should have monitored him better and they need to just leave a note, not tell me, dont bombard me when hes so excited to see me and me to see him!

Happy new year!

Welcome 2014! We have had a wonderful year with our little man! Each day I look at him and see he is a little man and not a baby anymore! He's always been so independent! Now when he gets around other kids he watches and follows everything they do! This blog has helped me release some of the fun and not so fun times with him. We are all learning together. I've been blogging less due to not making time and not havin the need to vent! Lol! Happy new year everyone!
