The Farmer!
Cullen has said he wants to be a chef for quite some time now. He even imagines growing his own food. Each time we go to the store, he is facinated by the seed packets and wants to try it... so we gave it go. About a month ago, we planted romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes and cauliflower in a small garden made with cement blocks. He loved digging in the soil and watering them! Each day he checks on them. We taught him how to trim the leaves. A friend at work gave him a cup of worms to put in the garden and I had him research on the internet why we want worms. He is telling everyone about his garden, he is so proud! Inside the house, we started a few plants from seeds, peppers, strawberries, and carrots. The pepper plants are the only ones that have sprouted so far. This is really teaching him responsibility too! We are working on a compost now, saving egg shells, fruit and veggie trimmings and mixing them with dirt and soil to provide a nutrient rich soil for our worms and plants!

Cullen is 7!
Cullen has grown up so much just in the last few months. He started 1st grade and it's like a light bulb has switched on. He made the AB honor roll and has As in conduct. We have him on concerta now. Its a low dose he takes once a day but that has helped so much. He also started tiger rock martial arts and is pretty good. Its giving him a strong male role model and discipline! He loves his little brother so much. Our little family is complete now.
I had not logged on for a while. We had a new baby, I switched schools, and so much other things going on that I didn't make time for blogging. I really wanted to log on and read some of what we went thru since little bro Jax is now 2. He's so different than Cullen. Much more easy going and a good listener. Strong at times but such a sweetie.
They both love praise and love to play and please us. We are so blessed!

what a little turkey
since becoming a mom, i have looked at disciplining children in a whole new light. it has helped me to have a little turkey who can sometimes make some bad choices which has helped me be a fair disciplinarian at school.
one thing that bothers me about cullens teachers and school is how when he has a bad day, thats the first thing i hear when i pick him up. i miss him all day and as a drive over to pick him up, all i think about is picking him up and telling him how much i missed him. he has had more good days then bad lately, but when they happen a couple days in a row, its frustrating!
today, i drive up to his school, see him playing outside. so i go get his bag and check his note for the day before i go get him. the note says he had a bad day (which to me implies the whole day was bad), the only incident described is that when he was taken to the bathroom, he pulled the curtain down, unrolled the whole toilet paper roll and put the toilet paper in the toilet. now, while this is a serious offence, what i believe is wrong with this picture is poor monitoring of the teachers.
so when i went outside, i had already read the note, the teacher then proceeds to tell me that what happened this morning was he unrolled the toilet paper all the way. so not sure which story is accurate, but they dont completely match.
i'm frustrated because they should have monitored him better and they need to just leave a note, not tell me, dont bombard me when hes so excited to see me and me to see him!
